Formby Festival is renowned for many things from food to drink, children’s entertainment to chef demonstrations and of course, music! Each year we play host to bands, soloists and choirs from around the UK and this year we’re getting even bigger. Check out some of the amazing acts below that are confirmed for Formby Festival 2017 so far.


Pub Quiz
Stuart James
The legendary Formby Festival Pub Quiz is making a return for 2017! Make sure you’ve got a team sorted, you could bag yourself £100 cash!
Stuart is an experienced all-round singer who covers a wide variety of styles of music including Swing, Pop, Rock and everything in-between. He’s performed across the country over the past 17 years in venues both big and small!

Jack Robert
Jack is a superb acoustic singer and can’t wait to take the Main Stage at Formby Festival, he’s previously played in front of 20,000 people at Blackburn Fireworks as well as in Liverpool’s ECHO Arena!
Jakkals are an indie/rock band residing in Liverpool with members from Leicester and the Lake District. The lads all attend LIPA (Liverpool Instsitue for Performing Arts) and share the same passion for creating and playing music. They’re fusion of pop and heavy rock excites fans and attracts all varieties of audiences.

Step Inside Love: The Cilla Show
Recognized as one of the leading Robbie Williams Tribute Acts, this superb tribute act has appeared on Channel 4 and ITV and has performed in 15 countries! Not only does he look the image of Robbie, he sings and entertains exactly like the main man himself 
Step inside Love is an authentic, respectful & professional tribute to the much loved, national treasure Cilla Black who sadly passed away recently. The Cilla Show – Step Inside Love features the amazing vocals and talent of Kate Bell and will take you back to the golden musical era of 60s & 70s!


Rent 43
Rent 43 made their Formby Festival debut back last year and this time they’re back heading the main stage on Saturday night. They’re a Blackpool-based band with heaps of energy, we can’t wait to see their performance!
What happens when you cross a reflective and soulful singer-songwriter from Dorset, Sarah de Warren and a Manchester based music producer Feri Gyemant? Something unexpected, surprising and transfixing. We can’t wait to see what they have in store.

Grace Kim
The Atmospherics
Soaring soul artist from South Korea, Grace Kim fuses R&B, soul and jazz with a sprinkling of the Kate Bush eccentricity. With a fascinating voice, Grace Kim strikes the audience as a true original and it’s impossible not to be absorbed.
Having started their musical career as a college band, The Atmospherics have gone on to record a debut EP and two singles in the last 18 months. With an ever growing fan base, their catchy and relatable songs have already been afforded extensive radio play on the BBC and also throughout the world on many independent stations. We can’t wait to see them on the Formby Festival Main Stage!

Tom Kinson
Chasing Shadows
Tom is a  local singer songwriter from Formby. He tends to write about girls, going out, and dying young. He originally started playing at uni to impress a girlfriend, who turned out not to like musicians! Unlike the girlfriend, playing music has remained a big feature in his life
Chasing Shadows are a four-piece pop rock band based in North Wales. Drawing influence from some their favourite bands like Stereophonics, Foo Fighters & Green Day. Their aim is to create an upbeat and exciting sound with catchy melodies. Since forming in December 2014, Chasing Shadows have gone on to play more than 50 gigs around North Wales and the North West.

The Occasionals
The Occasionals are a dynamic 7-piece band from Formby. They’ve performed at local and nationally renowned venues including IndigO2 at The O2, The Arches Glasgow and St George’s Hall Liverpool. They’ll be playing guaranteed floor fillers from Classic Rock to Contemporary Pop… with all the crowd pleasers in between!
Meridian are a newly formed, up and coming function band comprised of 6 talented musicians, all from the Formby area playing in a number of different bands across the UK, who have come together to share their love for music! They’ll be playing guaranteed hits from all the decades for everyone to enjoy.

Make Noise Choir
Amazing Kappa Band
Make Noise is an exciting modern choir that rehearses in Formby and Crosby and is nearly 2 years old. They pride themselves on being entirely inclusive; the choir is open to all abilities of singers. Make Noise sing for the sheer joy along with their love of music. Their charisma always shows in their fun, energetic performances.
Paul Kappa, Laura Gilchrist and Maria Alan make up the Liverpool based band. They’ve had a 14 years residency of the legendary Cavern Club. They’re constantly touring and are often over the pond in the USA!

Alex T
Coming direct from Radio City and The Hits Radio, Alex T will be hyping up the crowd as he performs a live DJ Set before our musical firework display! We can’t wait.



G:Force Gospel Choir
Ted Russet
The “amazingly stunning” G:Force Gospel Choir is now eight years old and operates as part of the performing arts community college at Formby High School. They’ve got a vast repertoire of soul, gospel, R&B, pop and contemporary.
Born and bred in the heart of Shropshire, Ted Russet is a young singer/ songwriter now based in Liverpool. In 2015 Ted was working at a supermarket recording his Debut EP, Hello My Name Is Ted out of his bedroom, which went on to enjoy success with multiple plays on BBC Introducing.

Rockin’ Relics
Hayley Murray
The Relics are made up of 6 musicians 5 of which are around the 70 year old mark and are all veterans of the Merseybeat days from the 60’s. The band has been together for about 2 years and the style of music varies from Rock ‘n’ Roll to popular music.
Hayley Murray is a 26 year old pop and soul singer based in the North West. She has been gigging for the past nine years & has supported acts such as Diversity and Stavros Flatley (Britain’s Got Talent) and Cher Lloyd and Wagner (The X Factor).

Fresh from a sell out performance at the Epstein Theatre, these guys are a Merseybeat and 60’s tribute band who will take you back to that era with an authentic sound & appearance that will have you singing along for the first note.
