Can I bring alcohol into the festival?
No, due to the licensing laws only alcohol purchased on the site can be consumed. Anyone found bringing alcohol onto the site will have it confiscated and may be removed from the site if necessary.
Do I have to be a certain age to attend?
Friday night will strictly be over 18’s only – we’ll be operating a strict CHALLENGE 25 policy. Saturday and Sunday all ages are welcome!
Do I have to be 18 to buy alcohol?
Yes, normal rules apply. There is a zero tolerance policy towards underage drinking of alcohol, use of illegal drugs and use of so-called legal high stimulants. Any one in breach of this policy will be removed from the site. Please note that the bars on site operate a strict policy on the sale of alcohol and will ask for ID if they feel there is any doubt about your age.
Can I bring glass bottles or cans on to the site?
No. In the interests of safety, glass bottles and cans will be confiscated on entry.

Are BBQs allowed?
What is your re-entry policy?
Wristbands (or stamps on Friday night) are given out when you pay to enter the event and these will give you unlimited access to the event during that day. Please note that re-entry is subject to the prevailing crowd levels. If you choose to leave and later wish to re-enter you may have to join a queue.
Can I purchase a weekend pass at a reduced rate?
Yes. Weekend wristbands are available at a reduced rate to purchase here as well as on the day you attend!

Is the event disabled/wheelchair accessible?
Yes. We also provide disabled toilets but please note that the festival site is a grass field which might prove difficult for some wheelchair users.
Do you have any security measures in place?
Yes, we have multiple procedures in place. We will also be operating a random bag search policy upon entry.
Should I bring cash or a credit card?
You are advised to bring cash as many traders do not accept credit card/debit card payments however some do accept card transactions. Whilst there is no cash machines on site, there are cash machines available nearby in Formby Village.
Is there any WI-Fi?
No, but there is free Wi-Fi in the village which is close by.
Do you have a Lost and Found?
Yes, this is situated at the ticket office.
Are there baby changing facilities?
Yes. NCT will provide a dedicated area for parents to go to change their babies and therefore we ask that you DO NOT change nappies in public or in the food court where people are eating as security may ask you to leave. There is a dedicated changing facility marquee set up just for this.
Is there anywhere I can feed my baby?
Yes, NCT will be providing an area where parents can go to feed their babies quietly and without any disturbance.
Do you have First Aid?
Yes. British Red Cross provides the first aid cover for this event from a designated marquee onsite. Should you require assistance, please contact one of the stewards or British Red Cross personnel on site.
Can I pass out flyers inside/outside the festival area?
No, anyone found to be passing out flyers will be asked to leave the event site by security.
Will there be vegetarian and special dietary food options?
Yes, traders who offer this will have this clearly displayed on their stands.
Do you have to be a certain age to attend this event?
No, this event is open to all ages. We have entertainment to suit everyone from the tiniest tots to the adults!
What is acceptable Forms of ID to purchase Alcohol With?
Photographic ID, e.g. Driving License or Passport. We operate a strict ‘Challenge 25’ policy along with the traders.
Are there parking facilities?
No. However, car parking is available in a variety of areas where pay and display rules apply but the area is extremely limited for parking. People are strongly advised to arrive at the Festival on foot and/or use public transport. Formby Station is within 2 minutes walking distance.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes but all dogs must be kept on a short leash and will not be allowed in the chef demonstration marquee, kids cooking marquee or the kids restaurant. However should they cause a problem in the food court or someone complains about them then we would ask them to be removed from that area.
Do you allow bicycles on site?
No, due to the high volumes of people who attend this event bicycles are not allowed on site. However, you are welcome to secure your cycle to the fencing to collect on your way out.
What kind of attractions are at this event?
We have a variety of hot food outlets, bars, craft traders, farmers market and artisan food stalls. There is a display arena and a great deal of free entertainment for the children to include kids cooking, circus school, magic shows, balloon modeling and craft marquee. Other attractions include Chef demonstrations, Water Bumper Boats, Inflatables, Archery, The Cave, Crazy Golf, Rodeo Bull, Steam Train, Face Painting, Donkey Rides and much more. For the adults we have the main live music stage with acts on throughout the day and on the Saturday we finish off with our now ledged musical firework display.
What will happen to the money raised at the Festival?
The festival is organised by a committee of volunteers (Formby Festival) a “not for profit” company. After all costs have been met and an allocation made to begin funding the event in 2019, surplus monies will be given to Variety (children’s charity) and Mayor of Sefton Charity.
